Disaster Relief & "I Would Die For You" Book Release in Tulsa, Oklahoma (Jan 24-27, 2008)
We are in the process of gathering volunteers to travel to Tulsa, OK on January 24-27th. The purpose of this trip will be two-fold: 1) We will help families remove trees that were damaged and destroyed during the ice storm that occurred in the middle of December. The work load will consist of using chainsaws and a lot of hauling branches and logs. 2) We will attend the "I Would Die For You" book release celebration with Brent & Deanna Higgins. This book tells the story about their son, BJ, who ultimately gave his young life for the opportunity to tell others about Jesus. The whole Higgins family have served for years with many families of the Leavener community and we have a deep desire to be a part of this special occasion.
We will be departing on Thursday, Jan 24th at 4:00 PM and carpooling to Tulsa. We should arrive in Tulsa at approximately 1 AM. We will be housed by a church with shower facilities. We will do disaster relief on Friday, Saturday AM and Sunday AM. We will leave Tulsa at 11 AM and return to Indianapolis at 11 PM. We are asking for $100 donations from each participant to provide for gas and supplies.
If you are interested in participating with this trip, please contact me at Rusty@Leavener.com.
