Leavener Board Members
There are five men that serve on the board for Leavener. Each one of these men have at least three things in common:
1) They have faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who came to be the Savior for the world. Because of their faith, they are no longer dead but risen to new life in Christ.
2) These men understand their identity in Christ. Their lives have been transformed because of the Spirit that lives in them and empowers them.
3) They are learning what vibrant rest in Jesus is all about. This truth is the good news that Jesus intended for us to grasp. Their understanding of this truth is the foundation for sharing this with others and desiring to meet needs of people around them.
Terry Cooper
Married to Ronda and has four children, Kassy (22), Kylee (19), Kourtney (16) & Kameron (12). Terry was employed by CP Morgan and served as a construction trainer from 2003-2009. Terry has served as a youth minister in the past and most recently as teacher of the Scripture to local homeless shelters in Indianapolis. The Cooper family now works for Hunter Homes in Huntsville, AL and relocated to that community in June 2009. Terry and Rusty became friends in 2003 as they did ministry together at Northside Baptist.
John Hilfiker
Married to Jeannie and has three children, John, who is married to Melina, Misti & Elizabeth. John & Jeannie became grandparents in 2007 as Audrey was born to Johnny & Melina. For 20+ years John served as a construction superintendent. Currently John volunteers with several ministry projects in our community. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to serve... and build! Big John and Rusty have done ministry together since 1989. They have traveled around the country and world with students telling others about the living waters of Jesus. Big John is a major factor of helping with the disaster relief ministry.
Rusty Kennedy
Married to Michelle and has two children, Cory (16) and Chloe (10). Rusty has been the Director of Leavener from its origination in March, 2007.
Keith Tyner
Married to Connie and has five children, Caitlin (16), Kelly (14), Kristin (12), Kacie (10) and Caleb (7). Keith has been helping families for 20+ years with financial planning. He serves through Gimbal Financial. Keith and Rusty have been friends since 1989. For the last 9 years they have met at "Panera Church" on Tuesday Mornings to encourage one another through the study of Scripture.
Matt Tully
Married to Kiersten and has three children, Maggie (13), Sophie (10), Danny (8). Matt serves in the financial planning industry. Matt and Rusty met in 2005 at men's retreat that was focused on teaching believers their identity in Christ. They currently attend a men's Bible Study on Monday Mornings. Matt serves his community through leading various Bible studies at his home and through the organization of area Great Banquets.
